Why learn a foreign language?
I am a fluent speaker of three languages 🇺🇸🇺🇦🇷🇺 , I also know some 🇫🇷, 🇩🇪, 🇮🇹, 🇹🇷 and I’m currently learning 🇪🇸
Why do I invest my time in learning languages? Also, why should YOU do the same?👇
1. It makes you a more interesting person.
Bilinguals automatically come off as far cooler people. Personally, I have always enjoyed talking to multilingual people. They’re amazing conversationalists and that’s a fact! Such people tend to have a broader worldview and have fascinating insights to share. That’s just what language learning does to your brain — it gives you knowledge and understanding of different cultures and ways of doing things.
I mean, don’t you want to be a person everyone can learn something from? I know I do!
2. Speaking of brain benefits of language learning…
It’s a scientifically proven fact that the bilingual brain ages more slowly and runs a lesser risk of being affected by Alzheimer’s and other age-related diseases. This means that learning a foreign language can help you boost your mental health and keep your brain sharp.
3. It makes traveling much easier
Learning a new language literally opens up a new world of opportunities. I’ve already talked about how international travelers miss out big time if they can’t speak good English. Just think about it.
